Tony Horton's Bootleg Ginga

On the one hand, it's cool that capoeira basics, like the ginga, are being recognized for their ability to improve fitness. On the other hand, look at this "ginga":

Tony Horton apparently modified the most basic movement of capoeira and put it into a "10 minute workout" that he promises can give people real results. Watch the two-minute commercial and see what you think. Realistically, there is no easy way to "get the body you want" in "10 minutes or less", regardless of how fit the spokespeople are.

Lessons from the Mundial 2009

At the Second Mundial de Capoeira in Miami, some of the biggest mestres alive today were present. Participants at the event had several opportunities for question and answer sessions. The line-up of mestres was so impressive that if you call yourself a capoeirista and were not inspired in some way, something is not right.
