Group Philosophy

The Capoeira Maculelê Decatur philosophy is based on the physical, moral, and spiritual values of the human being. Its practice aims to achieve the following goals:

  • Helping Capoeira students realize their full potential and talent;
  • Raising every member of Capoeira Decatur's awareness of socio-economic issues, such as drug abuse, violence, inequality and so on;
  • Encouraging the practice of Capoeira as a complex art, that integrates social, cultural and athletic aspects of Capoeira;
  • Preparing the members of Capoeira Decatur to become good instructors of Capoeira to continue to expand the art recognized as an Afro-Brazilian culture.
